Fuel oil storage tanks located at Clyde River, Baffin Island, NWT.
NWS Inspection Inc. was contracted to investigate reasons for complete failure of abrasive blasted, primed, and intermediate coated surfaces of the storage tanks in less than one year.
Investigation revealed the primer coat had been tinted to match the color of the intermediate coat, and was applied so poorly that abrasive blasted substrates were still visible through the improperly applied coating.
