Hydroelectric generating station penstock internally lined with Devoe Bar Rust 236, and externally coated with Devoe Devtar 5A.
The penstock pieces were abrasive blasted, and internally and externally coated in Calgary, AB. The pieces were then trucked to the dam site, and field welded.
Extensive mechanical damage to the internal lining was caused during removal of the temporary shipping support bars, resulting in thousands of spot repair areas throughout the entire penstock.
Humidity was a major concern during the onsite internal lining process.
